Organizations
The AMGA is the national training organization for rock, alpine and ski mountaineering guides. Their primary goal is to raise the technical and professional standards of mountain guiding in the United States to a worldwide level. They promote high levels of safety, knowledge, skill and professionalism and teach the skills required for guiding through training courses and practical exams.
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is a volunteer-based, private nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the 2,175 mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, a 250,000 acre greenway extending from Maine to Georgia. Their mission is to ensure that future generations will enjoy the clean air and water, scenic vistas, wildlife and opportunities for simple recreation and renewal along the entire Trail corridor.
Climbing for Kids is a fundraising event that supports Bay Area Wilderness Training (BAWT), a non-profit organization that gets at-risk and underprivileged youth outdoors. For every $1,000 raised, an average of 17 kids will get outside on trips with experienced adults using the best gear in the outdoor industry.
The Angelman Syndrome Foundation's mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrome through education and information, research, and support for individuals with Angelman Syndrome, their families and other concerned parties. The Foundation sponsors AS research through grants to researchers pursuing promising avenues of discovery.
Gregory participates yearly in the Sacramento Walk-a-thon as a corporate sponsor and fundraiser, with several of our employees on-site at the event to volunteer and walk.
The mission of the Outdoor Industry Association is to promote and preserve the human-powered outdoor recreation industry.
Outdoor Outreach is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide an opportunity for at-risk and underprivileged youth to gain confidence and self-esteem through participation in outdoor activities. Outdoor Outreach programs support undeserved youth in San Diego County who are at risk for school dropout, substance abuse, violence and unintended pregnancy. By utilizing outdoor physical experience, youth are provided with the support, relationships, resources and opportunities they need to become successful adults.
The mission of the Pacific Crest Trail Association is to protect, preserve and promote the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as an internatinoally significant resource for the enjoyment of hikers and equestrians, and for the value that wild and scenic lands provide to all people.
Since 1991, the Access Fund has been the only national advocacy organization that keeps climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment. The Access Fund supports and represents over 1.6 million climbers nationwide in ALL forms of climbing; rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, and bouldering. Fiv e core programs support the mission on national and local levels; public policy, stewardship and conservation (including grants), grassroots activism, climber education, and land acquisition.
The mission of the Conservation Alliance is education, research and advocacy for the preservation and restoration of endangered and threatened ecosystems and species.
