Title: Information Technology Manager

Job Summary:
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for all information systems activities and participates as an integral member of the technology strategic planning process. The Information Technology manager provides subject matter expertise in all business systems. This position will provide IT management, support, leadership and vision to all business operations, while developing and implementing IT initiatives that improve efficiencies, ensure cost effectiveness and support the overall vision, mission and values of the enterprise.
Support and Maintenance of the Following Technologies:
· Epicor's DataFlow ERP systems (Unidata database, highly customized code, running on HP server)
· SAN running on 2 Dell file servers running Windows Server 2008
· MS Exchange
· Backups with associated software
· EDI software supporting automated customer entries
· Blackberrys
· Desktop, laptop and network printers
· Website and e-commerce administration
Essential Job Functions:
· Develops, maintains and guides IT systems strategic and operational plans.
· Develops and maintains system architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, and software.
· Provides advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
· Recommends and manages all projects related to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
· Negotiates all IT acquisition contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
· Reviews hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
· Develops, when possible, master purchase or lease agreements for hardware, software, maintenance and telecommunication services.
· Maintains relationships with external entities (e.g., customers, vendors, sales agents, and other organizations).
· Provides responsive advice, counsel, education and service to and executive management concerning IT issues.
· Provides quality service to end users on needs analysis, solution recommendation, vendor selection, implementation, training, and post-installation support.
· Communicates IT plans, policies and technology trends throughout the organization.
· Develops and maintains an enterprise-wide data model and data dictionary.
· Monitors IT systems performance to assure service levels are being met.
· Researches and evaluates alternatives for the enhancement or re-engineering of IT systems.
· Ensures that enterprise information systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, legal requirements and audit requirements.
· Develops, maintains and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the enterprise.
· Develops and maintains a business recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of the annual operating and capital information budget and technology systems operations.
· Responsible for monitoring IT activities and costs as related to the overall utilization of resources required to meet programmatic operational requirements.
· Maintains contact with IT suppliers and maintains knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet established service levels.
· Evaluates alternatives, performs appropriate cost benefit analysis, and recommends solutions that minimize costs commensurate with acceptable risks.
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
· At least 10 years of progressive experience in managing functions and departments dealing with information handling, work flow and systems.
· Five or more years of direct management of a major IT operation is preferred.
· Experience should also include substantial exposure to both in-house and shared or outsourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information and communication systems and services.
· Specific experience with practice management, financial management and management information systems is desirable.
· Previous e-commerce experience preferred. Proven skills in:Software Development, Network Management, Desk Top Support, ERP installation and support, operating level knowledge of Database Systems, system integration and conversions, written and verbal communication, negotiating with vendors, contractors, and others, budget preparation and monitoring, planning and organizing, management and leadership, interpersonal relationship building.
