| Gregory grows award-winning Z, Jade pack line with 6 new models for 2008 |

TEMECULA, Calif. – Expanding its award-winning line of Z and Jade backpacks in mid-2008, Gregory Mountain Products will add six new models to its collection of lightweight day and mid-size packs that employ the company’s innovative Jet Stream Suspension. New packs include the Z65, women’s specific Jade 60, Z35, women’s specific Jade 35, Z25, and women’s specific Jade 25. These six new packs follow the success of 2007’s Z55 and women’s specific Jade 50, which were named Backpacker Magazine’s ‘Best All-Around Weekend Pack’ in its annual gear guide, won a ‘Best of 2007’ Award from National Geographic Adventure Magazine, and enjoyed strong sales. In the same year they were introduced, the Z55 and Jade 50 were the number one and five sellers respectively for Gregory in North America. Jet Stream is an innovative suspension that balances lightweight backpack design with true load transfer for the ability to carry weight exceptionally well – while simultaneously promoting air flow across the wearer’s back for ventilation. The six new models expand size and feature options on packs that use Jet Stream Suspension technology to a total of 11, and also add more designs specifically for women. Z65 / Jade 60 – The verdict is in – lightweight and weekend backpackers love 2007’s Z55 and Jade 50. But sometimes 50 or 55 liters just isn’t quite enough. Enter the Z65 and women’s specific Jade 60, built for people who need more capacity but still want a lightweight pack. These highly technical packs are top loaders that also use a large all-access front zip panel, which makes it easy to access gear anywhere in the pack. This panel also houses an additional exterior compartment for storing gear that needs to be more accessible. The Jet Stream LTS ventilating suspension in these packs has been modified from the Z55/Jade 50 design, so they’re built to carry heavier weights. The Jade 60 adds women’s specific geometry and styling. A floating lid, exterior side pockets, dual waist belt pockets, and hydration compatibility cap the details on these sub 4-pound load carriers. Three colors in men’s, three colors in women’s. Retail: $229. Z35 / Jade 35 – When bigger loads for a day or light overnighters are on tap, the Z35 and Jade 35 offer back-ventilating comfort in a lightweight, traditionally styled, top-loading alpine rucksack. Add to the mix a large all-access front zip panel, which makes it easy to quickly access gear deep in the pack, and the result is a unique feature set that combines the best of traditional and modern pack design. The Jade 35 adds women’s geometry and styling. Details include exterior stretch mesh side pockets, dual waist belt pockets, an exterior compartment housed in the front zip panel for gear that needs to be immediately accessible, and a hydration pocket and port. Jet Stream DTS suspension keeps things cool for the ride and automatically adjusts to the weight loaded in the pack. Three colors in men’s, three colors in women’s. Retail: $149. Z25 / Jade 25 – The ideal size for multi-sport day activities, the Z25 and women’s version, the Jade 25, are designed to be the pack you grab 90 percent of the time on the way out the door. Jet Stream suspension lets your back ventilate in warmer temperatures, and a large panel-loading compartment is cleanly designed, making it easy to access gear. An expandable stretch mesh front pocket holds a helmet or other layers you want to stuff and go. The Jade 25 features women’s specific geometry and styling. Dual waist belt pockets, an internal stash pocket, stretch mesh side pockets, and a hydration pocket and port top off the details. Jet Stream DTS suspension keeps things cool for the ride and automatically adjusts to the weight loaded in the pack. Three colors in men’s, three colors in women’s. Retail: $129. Jet Stream Suspension is tailored according to the size of the pack and the weight it is designed to carry. In packs designed to carry up to 30 pounds, Gregory employs Jet Stream DTS (Dynamic Transfer System), an ‘active’ suspension that automatically adjusts according to how much weight is loaded in the pack. In packs designed for multiple days on the trail and heavier weights, Gregory uses a more substantial version of Jet Stream called LTS (Load Transfer System).
